TERRITORIES - Covers Design

Sleeve and campaign design for the album ‘Territories’ by my band: SLOW WOLF

It was fun for me to design a campaign and sleeve design for my own band, Slow Wolf.

When not building dens or stalking bison, we make music that seeks to strip away the frivolity of modern life and connect with more basic human emotions; often by summoning imagery of the natural world and the brutal struggles faced in the animal kingdom. As a way of summarising these ideas into a singular concept, we titled our album: Territories.

I decided to represent Territories visually by showing a beautiful, yet fairly barren landscape. The front cover shows this at its most simple: a photograph I took while hiking up to the summit of Yosemite National Parks iconic ‘Half Dome’ in California. I further manipulated this image so that when you open up the front and back covers, the duplication of half dome becomes reminiscent of a wolves head and ears, as if to say - this is the wolves territory.
